Plant Diversity Lab (BIO422L)
I developed this course as a co-requisite to the Plant Diversity (BIO422) course at the Department of Biology, University of North Carolina Greensboro. This course introduces students to the world of plants from algae to flowering plants through a hands-on approach. An important aspect of this course is that students develop skills in plant identification such as the use of dichotomous keys, hand lens, dissecting and compound microscope. Students learn how to properly collect plants and mount herbarium specimens.
